Here are some of the charitable events scheduled for Thanksgiving week:
Charlotte Rescue Mission, Thanksgiving Day hot breakfast from 6 to 7:30 this morning, movies from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Thanksgiving meal starting at 11:30 a.m. The mission needs homemade desserts. They can be delivered no later than 9:30 this morning. 704-334-4635 or www.charlotterescuemission.org.
The Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte is serving Thanksgiving dinner 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at 534 Spratt St., the women’s and children’s homeless shelter. It expects to serve 300-plus people.
Harris Teeter’s 7th Annual Harvest Feast Dinner: Harris Teeter and community volunteers will serve a free meal to families in need noon to 4 p.m. Friday at the Charlotte Convention Center, 501 South College St. (Harvest Feast is by invitation only.)
