Don't violate the agony principle
Q: When I attempt to put my 3 1/2-year-old daughter in her room for punishment, she refuses to go. I have to pick her up and take her, during which time she flails her arms, screams and kicks. Character, not test scores, matter more
Driving in southern California recently, listening to talk radio, I heard a commercial for a Christian private school. The spokesperson went on and on about their very high test scores, the very high percentage of their students who go to top-rated universities, and other very high academic statistics.
