Oct. 14: Wildlife Oyster and Shrimp Festival, 5 p.m., Midway Boathouse Grill, Lake Norman. Proceeds benefit projects of the Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists, a chapter of the N.C. Wildlife Federation. Tickets are $35 and pre-registration and payment are required. The Grill is located in Terrell at the west end of the N.C. 150 Bridge.
