Runway for the Ballet

APPRAISAL EVENT: The "Trinkets & Treasures: What's it Worth?" event will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Gaston County Museum of Art & History, 131 W. Main St., Dallas. A certified appraiser will examine visitor's objects for $5 per item. Objects considered for appraisal include porcelain items, toys, furniture, glass, silver, ceramics and collectibles. There will be no appraisals of fine art, coins, stamps or weapons. All proceeds benefit the museum. 704-922-7681; www.gastoncountymuseum.org.

FASHION SHOW: The Assistance League of Charlotte is hosting its annual "Savor the Season" fashion show and luncheon next Wednesday at the Hilton Hotel - City Center, 222 E. Third St. Maureen O'Boyle, anchor/co-anchor at WBTV, is honorary chairperson. Specialty shopping provided by a variety of vendors will begin at 10:30 a.m. The noon luncheon will be followed by the fashion show at 12:45 p.m. Lotus Boutique will provide the fashions and Ballantyne Jewelers will provide the jewelry. FASHION/DANCE EVENT: The third annual Runway for the Ballet event benefitting the N.C. Dance Theatre will be held Nov. 8 at the Booth Playhouse, 130 N. Tryon St. Tickets can be purchased for one of two shows, at 5 p.m. and at 7 p.m. Due to the current economic climate, this year's event will feature smaller, local boutiques and shops. The four lines of fashion to be featured are from Black & Blue, Capitol, ChezElle, E Martini and Scout and Molly's. There will be excerpts from N.C. Dance Theatre's "Innovative Works" between the fashion portions of the event. Ramona Holloway from the "Matt and Ramona Show" on 107.9 The Link will emcee. She will be joined by Jimmy Penman from 106.5 The End. There will be a DJ, complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres and desserts from Amelie's French Bakery. All proceeds will benefit the dance theatre.
