SHOPPING EVENT: Intermix and The Mint Museum are teaming for a night of designer clothes, fashion experts and philanthropy at the SouthPark store 4-6 p.m. Nov. 16. Ten percent of purchases made during the event will benefit the Mint. Director of Fine Arts Charles Mo will give a presentation at 4 p.m. on art and fashion in conjunction with the special exhibition “The Art of Affluence: Haute Couture and Luxury Fashions 1947-2007.” The event is free and open to the public. 704-337-2000; www.mintmuseum.org, www.intermixonline.com.

MODEL CALL: Charleston magazine will hold a casting call for models to participate in Charleston Fashion Week 2009, 2-5 p.m. Nov. 15 and Dec. 13 at the Art Institute of Charleston, 24 Market St., second floor. Females should be at least 5 feet 7 inches tall and come with their hair pulled back, wearing form-fitting clothing with heels. Males should be at least 5 feet 10 inches tall. All participants should be at least 18 years old. Models chosen to participate will gain runway experience and obtain high-end photography shots for their portfolio.
