The delegates represent an amalgam of various single-issue groups, unions, pro-abortion, feminism, black influence, anti-corporate, homosexuals, pro-Palestinians and others.

People who think politicos know best about how we should live our lives should consider the following observations from Wednesday at the DNC:

Uptown Charlotte on Tuesday continues to seem like a foreign place to us natives, with all the barricades, police, demonstrators and politicos.

Although there were no big political events on Monday open to the public, there were plenty of things and people, mostly people, to observe in uptown Charlotte.

Marshall Park this weekend was like a time warp to UNC Chapel Hill and Duke University in the late 1960s, during the Vietnam War protests. The youngsters there were purposely scruffy, but even more seedy than their predecessors four decades ago.
