Want some eggs with that? Big Daddy's now has breakfast

Big Daddy's Burger Bar (1626 East Blvd.) now offers breakfast, with egg dishes (Big Daddy Benedict tops poached eggs with slider patties), French toast, a breakfast burger (topped with egg, ham, bacon and American cheese) and more.

Also new is Mug Night: Patrons can bring in mugs holding up to 40 ounces anytime during business hours and get specially priced beers from $3 to $7.

Wine, beer, tequila dinners

A refreshingly varied assortment of alcohol and food pairings are coming up:

Upstream (Phillips Place) hosts a Napa Cellars dinner Thursday, July 17. On the menu: cornmeal-crusted Monterey Bay squid with risotto nero and 2006 Sauvignon Blanc; pan-roasted Atlantic diver scallops with New Town Farm's Sweet 100 tomatoes, chorizo and local black-eyed peas with 2006 Pinot Noir; seared Alaskan halibut with 2006 cabernet sauvignon; and more. $58; 704-556-7730.

The Uptown Ruth's Chris hosts a Brooklyn Beer dinner July 23 with crabcake salad paired with Brooklyn Local One; petit filet with bleu cheese crust paired with Brooklyn Brown Ale; and more. $50; 704-338-9444.

Savannah Red (at the Marriott City Center) kicks off its summer wine dinner series July 25 with Mary Barber of Steele Wines in California. On the $55 menu: seared sea scallop with Shooting Star Aligote; confit duck perlew (a rice dish) with Cabernet Franc; and more. 704-363-8161.

The Palm (Phillips Place) offers a Herradura tequila dinner July 25, with a lineup that ranges from reception margaritas to lump crab and cantaloupe with Herradura Silver, aged filet with three-potato hash and Herradura Anejo. A spokesman from the company will co-host and discuss the history of tequila. $95; 704-552-7256.

OpenTable offers feedback option

OpenTable.com, with which you can make online reservations, has started a new diner feedback program. With it, diners can rate restaurants and the Web site will create lists of “diner's choice” favorites. The trick would be to have enough “voters” to make it accurate. OpenTable says it gets 200,000 feedback forms per month – but says it has customers throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain and Japan.
