Consider The Clebourne House in Fort Mill.
Owners Candace and Vincent Windell take pride in the lovingly restored home, originally built in 1894. Vincent Windell's grandparents bought the house in 1939. Vincent's ownership began in 1993, when it was mostly operating as a funeral home.
Candace and Vincent shared a vision of the old home returning to its glory days with a major restoration and remodel. They hoped for it to become an event location with the “charm and warmth of a historic Southern home.” The Windells worked with contractor Brian Otto and soon after The Clebourne House was born. They opened June 14 and have already hosted a wedding, a baby shower and a conference. Several events are booked into next year.
The house has a fireplace in every room, with the original mantelpieces, flooring and grand staircase. The new addition follows the style of the older spaces. Candace's friend Melanie Yates decorated each room a different color.
The house has three first-floor function rooms, with the Palmetto Ballroom the largest space. The ballroom can accommodate up to 250 guests in a standing reception, 96 guests for a seated dinner and 64 guests for a seated dinner and dancing.
The Palmetto Ballroom leads you to the outside Garden Patio, which can seat 150.
The Magnolia Room and Cypress Room are smaller and provide a more intimate setting, with room for a seated dinner of 24 and 16 respectively.
The Carolina Bridal Suite provides a second-floor getaway with a queen-size bed, spa bath and two fireplaces.
The Clebourne House Catering provides on-site catering, or you can bring your own caterer after paying the kitchen fee. A full-service bar is also available.
Located at 138 Clebourne St. in downtown Fort Mill, The Clebourne House is giving folks a reason and place to celebrate. There is a public event this month, so go check it out.
