Authorities and family members are still searching for a 73-year-old Charlotte woman who has been missing for 48 hours.

Cora Roseborough has not been seen since about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, when she was spotted near the Food Lion store on Moores Chapel Road at Interstate 485 in western Mecklenburg County. Roseborough's family members say she has a medical condition and needs medication.

Police and firefighters conducted widespread searches Tuesday and Wednesday. They searched on foot and also used the police helicopter and K-9 dog search units. Authorities said they even used heat-sensing equipment on their helicopter Tuesday night – but without luck.

On Wednesday, police asked residents in the Moores Chapel Road area to check their storage buildings, in case Roseborough might have sought shelter during the rain that fell early Wednesday.

The missing woman is described as an African American, about 5 feet 9 and 200 pounds. She was wearing pink Capri pants, a white shirt, and a blue sweater. She has braided black hair and probably would be carrying a walking stick.

Anyone who sees a woman fitting this description is asked to call 911.
