DENVER How about some oysters with that NFL or college game on TV?
The Naked Oyster Co., a raw bar and grill with 21 TVs, opened on Aug. 6 in the same N.C. 16 retail center as Pepperoncini's, and just in time for football season.
The TVs include three large projection screens.
Owners Jeff and Cheryl Steele feature an oyster bar with steamed and raw oysters and such menu selections as the Oysters Sampler ($9.99), crab legs, shrimp dishes, burgers, sandwiches and chicken entrees.
The 115-seat restaurant carries the NFL and college football TV packages and will soon have acoustic bands on Saturday nights, karaoke nights on Tuesdays and bike nights on Thursdays.
The new eatery also has a jukebox, darts and video games.
The Steeles also own Precision Reimaging, which refurbishes gas stations when their brands of gasoline change.
They said they're already looking to expand their restaurant, from 3,200 square feet to 5,000 square feet and a patio.
The Steeles did the interior work themselves, decorating with nautical items they'd collected across the country over the years.
The couple's partner in the restaurant is Derek Page, who owned and later sold two Angry Ale's in Charlotte and is a partner in Hoopers Bar & Grill in Fort Mill, S.C.
“We had the vision, he brought the experience,” Jeff “Woody” Steele said.
The Naked Oyster Co.: 7913 Natalie Commons Drive; 11 a.m.-2 a.m. daily, with food served until 2 a.m.; 704-483-1188.
