Clif Bar and Luna mini bars:

Compact hunger-busters

Energy bars often have so many calories that they're more of a meal replacement than a mid-meal booster. But Chicago Tribune tasters loved Clif Bar and Luna mini bars. At 100 and 80 calories apiece, respectively, they'll see you through to your next meal without tanking your diet. A box of 18 in three-flavor variety packs costs $13 at REI stores and by mail (rei.com and 800-426-4840).
