The Carolina Panthers' Na'il Diggs expects to see a lot of Reggie Bush on Sunday.
Bush is a multiple threat for the New Orleans Saints, the Panthers' opponent Sunday at Bank of America Stadium. A devilishly fast running back, Bush has also caught 41 passes – a major reason the Saints have the league's top-ranked passing game.
He leads the NFL with eight touchdowns, with three coming on punt returns. Diggs is a starting linebacker who also plays on the Panthers' punt team.
“You just have to be aware of where is at all times,” said Diggs of Bush. “He's in so many different places. You keep him in your peripheral, that's all you can do. He's likely to get the ball, no matter where he is. So you've just got to get him on the ground, because he makes a lot of guys miss tackles.”
Bush's 41 catches rank second in the NFL.
He's got 600 total yards from scrimmage, eighth in the league.
“He makes plays,” said Panthers strong safety Chris Harris, who is part of a defense that ranks second in the league against the pass. “He's very good in space, especially when they line him up out there as a receiver.”
Two of Bush's punt returns for touchdowns came Oct.6 against Minnesota. His 176 return yards that game were a team record.
