Planning tips for the groom:

• First, tell family and friends about your engagement.

• Discuss wedding styles with your fiancée, and set the date, time and place.

• Develop a budget with your fiancée and parents, and decide who will pay for what.

• Help to determine the guest list, and assist with invitations.

• Select your best man and groomsmen.

• Choose men’s attire and make arrangements for fittings. Be sure to get your fiancée’s approval!

• Visit clergy with your fiancée and schedule pre-marital counseling.

• Attend bridal events with your fiancée and participate in wedding planning.

• Discuss and arrange for the honeymoon.

• Purchase a wedding band to complement the engagement ring. You and your fiancée may want to consider matching bands.

• Procure attendants’ and bride’s wedding day gifts.

• Arrange transportation and accommodations for out-of-town guests.

• Apply for the marriage license – in the Carolinas the bride and groom must apply together.

• Get to the church on time!
