After months – maybe years – of referring to him as “boyfriend,” there is a feeling of happiness, pride, satisfaction, security, anticipation and maybe a tiny sense of accomplishment when you’re finally able to let everyone know that he is now your fiancé. You’ve got the ring to show it, but what about him?

Traditionally, the knight in shining armor pursues and wins the fair maiden and gives her a gift as a pledge of his undying love and commitment to their future. But a token in return, an engagement gift for him, is a classy and thoughtful gesture to show him how much you love and appreciate him.

You might choose a beautiful watch or bracelet, elegant engraved cufflinks or even a handsome ring for his right hand – remember, he’s saving the left. Consider his tastes and tailor your selections to them. Of course, it doesn’t have to be jewelry, but that’s a great place to start. And remember, it really is the thought that counts. It doesn’t have to break the bank, but it does have to come from the heart.
