Organizers say that despite some rain, last weekend's Mint Hill Highland Games broke attendance records.
Mint Hill Scottish Society president Donna Rogers said about 5,000 turned out – up about a third from last year. The event had been rescheduled from March to Memorial Day weekend because of weather. Organizers hope to make the Memorial Day date permanent.
The Friday-Saturday event featured athletic competitions, border collie demonstrations, falcons and Scottish clans. Information: www.minthill scottishsociety.org. Melinda Johnston
