Ballantyne
The Golf Club at Ballantyne will reopen Wednesday after completing a major greens renovation.
The Golf Shop will be open 7:30a.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Matthews
Matthews Help Center's Thrift Store – Back Porch Treasures – will have its annual Bag Sale beginning Sept. 8. Customers will be able to fit as many clothes and shoes as possible in a standard size brown grocery bag and be charged $5. All proceeds benefit the Help Center, which is dedicated to helping Matthews-area residents with life's basic needs, including food and financial assistance. Back Porch Treasures is located at 119 N. Ames St. in Matthews.
Union County
The Union County Farmers' Market has added a weekly fresh market. Every Thursday evening, vendors from the daily market will be on hand from 4 to 7 p.m. to sell cut flowers, locally produced soap, baked goods and fresh produce. The fresh market will be open until Thanksgiving. The Union County Farmers' Market is at 805 Skyway Drive in Monroe.
York County
The York County Regional Chamber's Main Street Live 2009 concert series includes a show Thursday in downtown Rock Hill.
The outdoor concert will be 5:30-9:30 p.m. featuring the local band The Tri City Bombers, a rock/blues quartet. They will take the stage at 6 p.m.
Main Street Live also features a kids fun zone for ages 10 and younger in the grassy area beside the downtown parking deck off Dave Lyle Boulevard.
