Good eats, good cause, Tuesday
Cruising into the Holidays with a Taste of Hope is Hope Haven's annual fundraising gala. There will be a cooking demonstration with celebrity chefs, appetizers from local restaurants, a silent auction and more. Alzheimer's walk, Saturday
The annual Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk is 9 a.m. Saturday at Freedom Park. Music by the Charlotte Community Band, the Bobcats drumline and WKQC-FM (K104.7). County Commissioners Chairwoman Jennifer Roberts is expected to participate.
Holiday auction, Saturday
Hospice of Union County's Annual Holiday Auction is Saturday. Doors open at 8 a.m. to preview items. Auction begins at 9 a.m. First Baptist Church, 109 Morrow Ave., Monroe.
Art show, Saturday
The Charlotte Art Collective will benefit Pat's Place Child Advocacy Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, MacLean Community Hall, 2821 Park Road. Free. A donation to Pat's Place is the fee for the drawing for a Basketful of Art, which contains artwork donated by artist in the collective. NASCAR HOF preview, Nov. 18
The Charlotte International Auto Show added a preview night gala to benefit Charlotte Rescue Mission. The first 500 people who buy tickets to the opening gala will also get a sneak peek at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The event is sponsored by the Observer and Cars.com.
