Cornelius

Haiti benefit: Untangled Salon, owned by Lori DiDonato, recently raised about $2,000 during its six-hour Hair-a-thon for Haiti event. The salon is selling event T-shirts for $10 and proceeds will be added to the total amount raised. Details: 704-895-9300 or www.hairuntangled.com.

Huntersville

Health fair: A "Red Apple" award celebration will be hosted at Presbyterian Huntersville Hospital. There will be a mini health fair, with free blood pressure and Body Mass Index screenings. Health experts will be on site to answer questions, and there will be free red apples for all guests.

Presbyterian is the first multi-hospital group to be named a Red Apple Hospital by North Carolina Prevention Partners. This designation was granted for the hospital's commitment to develop, promote and sustain a healthy food environment.

The event will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the hospital's cafeteria.

Scholarships: The Rotary Club of Lake Norman will offer a $1,500 college scholarship to a local high school senior who exemplifies the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self." Eligible students must be a high school senior who is graduating this spring. They must have a "B" average or higher and be from North Mecklenburg High School, Davidson Day, Hopewell High School or the SouthLake Christian Academy.
