A Charlotte high school student was arrested Tuesday after allegedly threatening staff members at his school, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools officials and police.
CMS officials say a 10th grader at E.E. Waddell High School was arrested by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police on Freedom Drive and charged with communicating threats.
CMS says the 18-year-old's mother called school officials and told them her son was threatening to harm staff members and the school's resource officer.
The student did not go to school Tuesday, however.
Police say Omarius Daniels had been arrested Friday and charged with assault on a female and resisting a public officer. The latter charge had to do with Daniels' actions toward the school resource officer during his arrest.
On Tuesday, police added a communicating threats charge against Daniels.
