A man who is either the most brazen or the dumbest crook in Charlotte was arrested late Wednesday night after robbing a victim -- near the front door of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
Police say it happened about 11 p.m. in the 400 block of East Trade Street.
Initial reports said two men robbed the victim, then ran off. But police later said one man was involved in the crime. Sheriff's deputies responded quickly and caught the alleged robber.
Police say Eddie Price Jr., 23, was arrested and charged with armed robbery. He is being held in Mecklenburg County Jail under $100,000 bond and has an initial court date scheduled Friday afternoon. Price has a long record of arrests, mostly on larceny and misdemeanor charges.
The victim was not injured, police say.
