A crew from the Seattle-based Chihuly Studios and the Mint Museum of Art dismantled Chihuly's "Royal Blue Mint" chandelier, one of the last pieces remaining to be moved from the Mint Museum of Craft + Design in uptown Charlotte. The piece, dating from 1998, is made up of hundreds of asymmetrical pieces of hand-blown glass. Conservationists will clean the piece and it will be reinstalled in the summer of 2010 in the Mint's new home in the Arts Campus on South Tryon Street.
