East Carolina signee Drew Reynolds of East Rutherford is the 2010 Charlotte Observer All-Region player of the year.

Each year, the Observer names an overall team for all 125 schools in its coverage area (All-Observer), plus regional teams made up of Mecklenburg County players (All-Mecklenburg) and those outside the county (All-Region).

Reynolds, a shortstop and pitcher, was MVP of the N.C. 2A state championship series. He was 13-1 as a pitcher, striking out 143 batters in 83.2 innings. In Game One of the best-of-3 championship series win over Graham, Reynolds threw a complete game five-hitter and struck out eight in a 5-1 win. He also had two hits in the game.

For the season, Reynolds hit .505 with four home runs and 41 RBIs. He was the South Mountain conference player of the year.

Reynolds' father, Bobby, who led East Rutherford to the N.C. 2A state championship and a 30-2 season, is the All-Region coach of the year.
