Today: N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission public hearing on proposed changes to hunting, fishing and trapping regulations, 7 p.m., South Stanly High School, Norwood.

Saturday: Archery deer season opens at the Sandhills, Rockfish Creek and Nicholson Creek Game Lands. The NC. Hunting Regulations digest incorrectly states that the season opens on Sept. 13.
