Twelve motorists arrested on DWI charges

Police arrested 12 motorists for driving while intoxicated at an overnight DWI checking station in the 700 block of Remount Road, near Interstate 77, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Sgt. David Sloan said this morning.

Police issued 67 total charges from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. and also arrested two motorists for driving while their licenses were revoked, two motorists for resisting, obstructing and delaying an officer, one motorist for possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia and another for possessing Hydrocodone , Sloan said.

Officers from the Mint Hill and Pineville police departments and Mecklenburg County ABC Law Enforcement assisted Charlotte-Mecklenburg officers at the stop.
