CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. Braxton Ogbueze, a point guard for United Faith Academy in Charlotte, led his team to the championship game at the NBA Players Association camp but wasn't swarmed by reporters.
Ogbueze, ranked No.29 in the nation by ESPN, has committed to Florida, which wasn't represented by media at the camp.
"I always believed you need to go where you are wanted the most," Ogbueze said. "To me, it felt like Florida wanted me the most. And you can never go wrong with whoever wants you the most."
Ogbueze's father, Godwin, led Clemson's soccer team in scoring with 17 goals as a freshman in 1975. But Braxton liked the idea of learning to play point guard at Florida.
"I thought playing under (coach) Billy Donovan would be a great fit for me because he was also a successful point guard at the highest level in the Big East at Providence," Ogbueze said. "I think I can learn from him."
Ogbueze was one of two point guards from North Carolina who directed his team to the championship game at the NBAPA camp. Ogbueze was on a Grizzlies team along with forward J.P. Tokoto, who is committed to North Carolina.
Concord's Codi Miller-McIntyre, a Wake Forest commitment, helped the Magic reach the championship game.
