A marriage of taste

It can be difficult to merge two lifestyles together. When it comes to setting up house, youll need to discuss style and decor. He may want to keep it simple, but you love to fill every corner with memorable knickknacks. The key word? Compromise.
Your home should be a representation of the new life you are starting together. Decide on a style you both like. Look through magazines, spend quality time in IKEA and have fun with paint samples at the home improvement store. Decide on a color scheme and make it a joint activity to paint the walls.
Use the magazines and chosen color schemes to make the most of your wedding registry. Build your registry together and choose kitchen appliances, dishes and candleholders that compliment one another.
If you are both coming from separate living arrangements, decide who has the better TV stand, coffee table or bed set. Unless you have ample room, you wont want duplicates to clutter your space. Sell them and use the extra cash to buy décor you both love.
Does he still refuse to part with his beloved sports poster? Are you struggling to let go of your teacup collection even though it matches nothing? Instead of throwing them out, choose sections of the house to call your own. It may be a room or a corner, but decorate it however you want. The mans cave is a growing trend, but why not create a womans cave too?
Blending two personalities and styles together can be a challenge, but the reward is place where you both feel at home. Its the perfect introduction into married life.
