If you’ve seen the movie “27 Dresses” or ever, yourself, been part of a bridal party, then you know that bridesmaids dresses can be tacky, unflattering and you almost never want to “shorten it and wear it again.” Luckily, bridesmaid dress trends are moving in a more favorable direction for their wearers. Here are three fashionable alternatives for the ladies of your bridal party:

One color, different styles

Pick one color that fits into your wedding – preferably a flattering color for everyone – and then let your gals pick their favorite styles. You may allow them to pick their own jewelry and hairstyle, or you can keep control of that. They will still allow you to shine but they won’t be miserable in the meantime.

Pick from a palette

Choose a palette of colors. It might be one color with all different shades or each girl donning a completely different color (just make sure they compliment each other). Their dresses can be different textures, lengths, and silhouettes. You may want to also let them choose their own accessories and hairstyles. Even though it’s your day you want your ladies to look and feel like themselves. This option will also making your bridal party photos fun and fresh!

Prints

You may be thinking, “What? A print? That’s preposterous!” However, picking a fun print in a flattering style can really add some pizzazz to your wedding party. You can choose a modern print or a springy floral. Lilly Pulitzer makes many different print dress options. If you want a little Southern charm in your wedding, then a Pulitzer print is the way to go. This option would be perfect for the beach or any kind of outdoor wedding.
