Here are state ratings for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, based on 2010-11 exams. For more details and results from all N.C. schools: www.dpi.state.nc.us
Proficiency ratings for elementary and middle schools are a composite of pass rates on state reading, math and science tests. For high schools, they are based on the 10th-grade writing test and exams taken in algebra I, algebra II, biology, English I, U.S. history, physical science, and civics and economics.
Schools that failed to test at least 95 percent of students eligible to take those exams did not get state ratings.
