Wachovia branches in South Carolina will make the switch to the Wells Fargo name on Sept. 17, according to the bank's website.
The San Francisco-based bank had previously said S.C. locations would convert in mid-September. N.C. branches are set to make the change in mid-October, completing the final major step in the merger integration.
Former Wachovia branches in South Carolina will be fully operating as Wells Fargo offices on that Saturday morning, said Wells spokesman Josh Dunn. For branches without Saturday hours, the switch will take effect on Monday Sept. 19.
The changeover means tellers in former Wachovia branches in South Carolina will be using the same computer systems as other Wells branches. The bank will also unveil red-and-yellow Wells signs.
After converting branches in Virginia this month, Wells Fargo has now made the switch in 18 states. Maryland and the District Columbia will also change on Sept. 17.
Wells bought Wachovia in December 2008 after the Charlotte-based bank verged on collapse during the financial crisis.
