Katie Greene, 10 and a fourth-grader at Covenant Day School, aims to raise $20,000 this year and deliver toys to 10 hospitals with her Katies Kidz organization (www.katieskidz.org).
She started it in 2007, at age 6, because she wanted kids who couldn't be home for Christmas to have a happy holiday. That year she raised $162 and took two big bags of presents to Levine Children's Hospital. Last year, she began putting together hygiene baskets for parents of hospitalized kids, too, and received a 2011 community service award from the D.A.R.
