The “Spirit of Cox Mill” Marching Band from Cox Mill High in Concord appears in a trailer for the well-received new thriller series “Homeland” on Showtime. A casting director had seen the band perform at a fifth-grade graduation last spring and remembered it.
Director Joseph Earp says his band is “working really hard. We are in year three as a high school and have made many accomplishments. Many of my students participate in other musical ensembles and events other than our band. I think this is what helps give us our character and growth.”
