LANCASTER -- The 19-year-old Kershaw man who died after a crash Saturday morning in Lancaster County has been identified as Otis Clyburn Jr.

Clyburn was driving east on North Taxahaw Road, five miles north of Jefferson, in a Honda four-door when the vehicle swerved to the right off of the road to avoid hitting a deer and struck a utility pole just after 10 a.m., said Trooper Scot Edgeworth.

He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

He was taken by ambulance to Springs Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
