Artwork of an eagle draped in a tattered American flag landed Donald Hamilton first-place honors in the US Airways Patriotic Art Contest.
Donald, a ninth grader at Victory Christian Center, was recognized at the US Airways Freedom Breakfast held on Veterans Day,and his winning artwork was displayed on the event pamphlet.
The program was sponsored by the Carolinas Freedom Foundation. For taking home first place, Donald can choose to receive $1,000 in US Airways gift cards toward airline tickets to Washington, D.C., or a $1,000 U.S. savings bond. The Victory Christian art department will also receive a check for $250 to purchase art supplies.
