Lake Norman

Wells Fargo recently committed $50,000 toward the Business Build 2012 effort to construct an Our Towns Humanity for Humanity home next year.

Wells Fargo donated $30,000 up front and set aside $20,000 to match sums pledged by other donors. The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce is leading Business Build 2012. The fundraising goal is $71,500. Details: Kevin@champtire.com; kevin.pote@wachovia.com.

Some downtown Mooresville art galleries and other businesses will host a free Art Walk from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday on North Main Street and West Center Avenue.

Kirk Ballard, 2011 Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber of Commerce board chairman, recently presented a service award on behalf of the chamber to John Hedley, president of the nonprofit Welcome Home Veterans Living History Museum at Richard's Coffee Shop, and other members of the Welcome Home Veterans board.

The award recognizes the Mooresville-based organization's contribution to ensuring the memory and support of veterans.

Realtor Bill Ahls of NHB Group Inc. in Cornelius earned the designation of Certified Investor Agent Specialist.
