Prep Hoops Players of the Week

Tiffany Mitchell, Providence Day girls: 23 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals against Forsyth Country Day Friday; 25 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and four steals against Village Christian Tuesday. In her last four games, Mitchell has scored 96 points and added 33 rebounds and 25 steals. She has signed with South Carolina.

Keyshawn Woods, Gaston Day: 30 points, six rebounds against Gaston Day Friday; 39 points and 11 rebounds against Charlotte Latin Tuesday.

Rachel Porter, West Charlotte girls: 27 points, six rebounds, four steals in a 60-51 win over Independence Tuesday.

Bryon Fields, Providence Day: 58 points in games against Fayetteville's Village Christian and Forsyth Country Day last week.

Deriece Parks, Olympic: School-record seven 3-pointers in an 87-66 win over Hunter Huss Tuesday. Parks had 27 points.

Anika Jones, Shelby girls: 35 points, six rebounds, three steals in 61-55 win over rival Crest Friday. She had 20 points, six rebounds and four steals against Kings Mountain.

Stephanie Watts, Weddington girls: 25 points, 12 steals, five assists in a 69-52 win over Cuthbertson Friday.

Diondre Pratt, Anson Senior: Averaged 22.3 points and 7.3 rebounds in three games last week for Anson (5-0).

Shivaughn Wiggins, North Mecklenburg: Early season boys' player of the year? Wiggins averages 24.4 points for a Vikings (7-0) team that lost more than 50 percent of its roster to graduation last year. He had 33 points and five assists in win over Lake Norman (4-1) Friday. He had 12 points, six assists and four steals in a win over Myers Park Tuesday.
