Winners in patriotic art contest

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools winners in the Carolinas Freedom Foundation's 2011 Patriotic Art Competition were: In high school, Lee Da Sol from South Mecklenburg High, first, and Jules Carter from North Mecklenburg High, second.

For middle school: Lauren Kassab, first, and Ellie Reinhard, second, both from Crestdale Middle.

Surrounding-area high school winners were Kate Condon of Charlotte Christian, first, and Liz Wahid from The Cannon School, second; and in middle school, Donald Hamilton from Victory Christian, first, and Ben Wyatt of The Cannon School, second.
