Last week I saw a friend at Target and as you do this time of year, we asked each other about plans for the holidays. This year were going to Great Wolf Lodge instead of New Jersey! she said. And I thought that sounded so cool. Im not sure her friends and relatives in Jersey agree, but cest la vie!
If youve never been to Great Wolf Lodge, the indoor water park in Concord, the week betweenChristmas and New Years might be a great time to go. The office wont miss you. The kids are home for the entire week and by Monday will be begging for things to do. And this could provide the perfect get away from it all experience that doesnt require leaving the state.Great Wolf is more than just a waterpark, although thats obviously the focal point. Theres an adventure for every family member, including the Cub Paw Pool for little ones up to the Howlin Tornado funnel drop for the more adventurous types. But the resorts other amenities include onsite dining, shopping, fitness facilities and spas (for kids and adults). The suites alone are enough to entice me. Remember, overnight stay is required for the waterpark experience. But after a day at the park, youd rather crash in the suite than drive home anyway. Splurge for one of the themed suites for an even more memorable experience.Theres also nightly shows and kids story time. Its kind of like Vegas meets Mister Rogers on a lazy river. For the remainder of December, Great Wolf is offering two cool deals. Save 15% when you book two or more nights. Another package includes a car pass to the Carolina Christmas light show at nearby Charlotte Motor Speedway. Check the events page for more information as well as promotional codes to use when reserving.Whether youre getting away from it all at Great Wolf, heading north to New Jersey, or staying home, I hope your holidays are warm, festive and bright!
