Three Chester County residents are charged in connection with an armed robbery last month at a Richburg Waffle House that authorities now say was an inside job.

Chester County Sheriff Richard Smith said Monday that Brandon Connor, 21, of Fort Lawn has been charged with armed robbery; Summer Alexander, 24, of Chester and Carrie Jo McWaters, 20, of Richburg are charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

On Dec. 12, deputies were called to the Waffle House at 3204 Lancaster Highway in Richburg, where a robbery had just occurred, Smith said.

Alexander, who worked at the restaurant, told deputies that an unknown man robbed her at knifepoint and ran out of the restaurant. McWaters, also an employee, witnessed the robbery, too, according to police.

An investigation later identified the man as Connor, Smith said. Deputies also learned that Connor, Alexander and McWaters were friends, Smith said, and had planned the robbery, after which the three met and split the money.

Bond was set at $30,000 each for Connor, Alexander and McWaters. Alexander and McWaters were released. Connor remained in custody Monday at the Chester County jail.
