The Girls on the Run and Girls on Track programs in Iredell County donated 15 pet beds to the Humane Society of Iredell County on Dec. 22.
The girls made each pet bed by hand and donated it as part of their community service project.Girls on the Run is a nonprofit, 12-week program for third- to eighth-grade girls that stresses self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running.The goal is to educate and empower girls - training for a 5K road race (3.1 miles) - with workouts that build self-esteem.
