Matchup to Watch

Carmelo Anthony vs. Corey Maggette: Anthony traditionally has been as tough a cover as any Bobcats opponent. He's so much stronger and more physical than the typical small forward that his post-ups are particularly effective. Try to make him into a jump-shooter, because his shot selection becomes questionable.

Observations

Knicks big man Amare Stoudemire has a sprained left ankle that kept him out of the Knicks' past two games. Stoudemire and Iman Shumpert (sprained knee) both could be back tonight.

Ex-Charlotte Hornet Baron Davis signed with the Knicks after being cut by Cleveland under the amnesty clause. Davis is recovering from a herniated disc.

Ex-Bobcat Tyson Chandler could do wonders to upgrade the Knicks' shaky defense. Chandler came to New York after helping Dallas win a title.

Tap-ins

This is the first back-to-back set of games for the Bobcats this season. The Knicks were off Tuesday.

The Garden just went through a dramatic renovation, basically gutting the inside of the building.

The Knicks dumped Chauncey Billups (amnesty) to sign Chandler.

Did you know?

In a quirk of the post-lockout, reconfigured NBA schedule, the Bobcats will play two games in New York against the Knicks within five days.
