Charlotte-Mecklenburg police released this surveillance photo of a man they say robbed an RBC Bank in the Ballantyne area Wednesday afternoon.

Police are searching for a man who wore a cowboy hat as he robbed a Ballantyne-area bank Wednesday.

The robbery happened around 3:30 p.m. at the RBC Bank on Ballantyne Village Way, just off Johnston Road, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. The suspect did not show a gun during the robbery, police said.

Surveillance photos show a man entering and leaving the bank wearing a dark jacket, sunglasses and a straw cowboy hat with red stitching.

Police said the suspect is a white male between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 7 inches with a medium build.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
