Can you see the emporer's clothes?

Emporer's New Clothes

The Grey Seal Puppets company has recast “The Emperor’s New Clothes” using animal characters, coming Jan. 14-15 to Children’s Theatre at ImaginOn. Kids ages 4 and older will love the story of a vain ruler who learns that there is more to life than what you wear.

Using playful puppetry, Grey Seal brings a new dimension to “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” In this version, the emperor is a pig, the crafty tailors are foxes, the prime minster is a near-sighted camel and the councilor is a befuddled old walrus. Even the audience takes part as animals.

Tickets for “Emperor’s New Clothes” are $12-$14. The production is presented by Children’s Theatre in the Wells Fargo Playhouse at ImaginOn. Showtimes are 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Jan. 14 and 2 p.m. Jan. 15. For tickets, call 704-973-2828 or visit www.ctcharlotte.org.
