Stolen Air Jordans worth thousands of dollars

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police burglary investigators are working an unusual case involving stolen Nike Air Jordan sneakers.

Bryant Toala, 22, has been collecting Air Jordan shoes since he was in middle school. Monday night, police said, burglars broke into his Mapleridge Drive home and stole Toala's entire collection - 30 pairs of shoes.

Toala said the shoes could be worth more than $10,000.

Toala told police that his baseball hats also were stolen. The hats matched the shoes.

Police said that Toala's father was at work during the break-in, and before he left, he locked his dog, a large pit-bull boxer mix, in the garage. The burglars came in through the bedroom window. Police have not identified a suspect.

Arrest warrant filed for ex-York County official

A federal court has called for the arrest of ex-York County councilman Paul Lindemann after he was charged Tuesday for drunken driving and fleeing the scene of an accident.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol arrested Lindemann early Tuesday morning in Fort Mill, S.C., after he crashed an SUV into a mailbox and fled the scene. He was released on a $1,234.50 bond.

The federal arrest warrant filed Thursday in Columbia comes just one month after Judge Cameron McGowan Currie sentenced Lindemann to 18 months of jail time for lying on a mortgage application, a felony offense. Currie gave Lindemann until April to report to serve his sentence - until after his wife gives birth to their second child - and he was released on bond.

After Tuesday's arrest, a federal probation officer requested that the judge revoke Lindemann's bond, court documents show.
