Notes from the world of savings:
There's an app for that: Now you can use your iPhone or iPad to get off to a great couponing start this new year. iQ is a new app from Coupons.com. Users can create shopping lists, favorite-item lists and even sort-by-aisle lists. The lists can even be shared with others. My favorite feature of iQ is its ability to allow users to search and attach coupons for items on their list and either load them virtually to their shopping loyalty card or print them.
Get bonus box tops: Harris Teeter is offering a chance to earn Bonus Box Tops when you buy certain General Mills products. Along with the coupons offered in last week's newspaper, you can save and earn for your local school. Go to harris teeter.com for details.
Food Lion store brand super sale: Stock up on staples such as beans, cereal, pet food, pasta and canned tuna with this store brand sale, which ends Feb. 7.
Clarification: In last week's column, I wrote that the Rite Aid Up+ Rewards printed at the bottom of your receipt could not be used until 6 a.m. the next morning. I have since spoke with a Rite Aid representative who said Rite Aid Up+ Rewards can be used right away.
