A man leaves the vicinity of the Fast Wok restaurant Sunday night on East W.T. Harris Boulevard moments after an employee was fatally shot. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for two men and their apparent getaway vehicle in connection with a robbery and fatal shooting of a restaurant employee Sunday evening in east Charlotte.

Investigators say Edward Rosen, who turned 52 a little more than a week ago, was shot and killed in the robbery.

The men sought in the case were driving a burgundy Chrysler PT Cruiser, police say.

Investigators say they were called about 8:15 p.m. to the Fast Wok restaurant, in the 7000 block of East W.T. Harris Boulevard, in regard to a robbery and shooting. They found an employee, later identified as Rosen, with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Rosen was rushed by Medic to Carolinas Medical Center but died about an hour later.

Police called in their K-9 unit to look for a suspect, who they said had fled on foot near Harris Boulevard and Hickory Grove Road. But after looking at surveillance video, investigators instead put out an alert for the possible suspect and the car. And they added information about a second man possibly involved.

Video showed the PT Cruiser, a two-door convertible with a black top, driving past the front of the business.

The man sought by police was a light-skinned black male with a medium build. He was wearing a white sweatshirt with a hood and dark jeans. The second man was driving the PT Cruiser, and police say the video shows him checking out the business before the shooting. He was wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call detectives at 704-432-TIPS or leave information with Crime Stoppers, 704-334-1600.
