Observations: Charlotte Bobcats at Chicago Bulls

By Rick Bonnell
rbonnell@charlotteobserver.com

The Bobcats lost reserve power forward D.J. White after White banged knees with a Bulls defender in the first half. White thought he'd be able to get through the second half but just wasn't well enough to play.

The Bobcats didn't have an easy time getting to Chicago, with the Midwest's first real snowstorm hitting all day and most of the night Friday. The good news was the team charter out of Charlotte was delayed, rather than diverted in mid-flight.

Coach Paul Silas sees real progress in the offense since the switch from Boris Diaw to Kemba Walker as a starter. Silas said the best evidence is free-throw attempts. The Bobcats' 38 trips to the line against the Golden State Warriors and 26 against the Cleveland Cavaliers were the most in the first 15 games, and both games came after the lineup shift.
