Matchup to Watch

Carmelo Anthony vs. Derrick Brown: Brown likely shifts into the starting lineup with D.J. Augustin out and Gerald Henderson likely shifting back to shooting guard. Anthony's physical strength at small forward makes him extremely tough to guard in the post without fouling.

Observations

Badly as the Bobcats have played of late, Henderson has shined in the past five games. During that span he's averaging 20.4 points, 55 percent shooting and 7.8 free throw attempts.

Backup center Bismack Biyombo has come around the past three games, particularly on offense. He's made 12 of his past 14 shots and averaged 8.6 points, six rebounds and 2.6 blocked shots.

Center Byron Mullens' shooting has tailed off, perhaps as scouting catches up to him. Mullens has made 15 of his past 40 shots from the field.

The Knicks have lost six straight, four straight at home. The offense is a mess, and Anthony acknowledged Saturday he might be shooting too much. Amare Stoudemire has been marginalized in this offense.

Tap-ins

The Knicks commit the second-most turnovers in the league (17.6 per game), but the Bobcats have the fewest steals in the NBA.

Bobcats reserve shooting guard Matt Carroll has made one of 13 3-point attempts this season.

This is the last Knicks-Bobcats game this season. The Bobcats would win the season series 2-1, and tie the all-time series at 14-14 with a victory.

Did you know?

Kind of ironic the Knicks play a game Tuesday night at Time Warner Cable Arena. There's a rights dispute between MSG (the Knicks' and Rangers' telecaster) and Time Warner that's keeping Knicks games off Time Warner Cable systems in metro New York this season.
