School hosts Chinese students: Seventeen students and two teachers from Tianli International School are living with Cannon School host families and attending classes at Cannon during a two-week cultural exchange in January.Tianli International, sister school to Cannon, is in Luzhou, a town founded in 135 B.C. in central China.Concord HighHealthcare program: Three Concord High School students participated in the Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast Diversity in Healthcare Physician's Mentoring Program.Jasmine Brown, Jeremiah Nance and Emilio Quintin Renteria were selected for the program based on their academic grade-point averages, essays and interest in careers in the medical profession.Pitts School Road ElementarySupport sought: The school is in an online contest and needs public support to win $10,000 for its library.The school is a finalist in an IKEA-sponsored project, The Life Improvement Project. Vote at www.ikea.com to help update the school library.W.R.Odell ElementaryGeography bee: Students competed in the school's National Geographic Geography Bee on Jan. 9.Fourth-grader Sarah Trantham took first place. Robinson High SchoolsCompetition results: The schools recently co-hosted the Marketing Competitive Events Conference, a DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) competition, for Region 6.The awards were based on role-play scenarios and online test scores. Student winners are listed by category: Retail merchandising (role play) : Tiffany Shine and Olivia Newell, Jay M. Robinson High, placed in the top five. Combined score: Tiffany Shine, Jay M.
