MOORESVILLE Mooresville Concerts welcomes back the Thistledown Tinkers for a Celtic music performance at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Joe Knox Theater in the Charles Mack Citizen Center, 215 N. Main St.
Thistledown Tinkers has performed at numerous regional festivals such as the Loch Norman Highland Games, the Scots-Irish Festival in Dandridge, Tenn., the Mint Hill Highland Games and the N.C. Pickle Festival.
In 2010, Thistledown Tinkers was featured in a BBC Northern Ireland documentary on the influence of Celtic music in the United States.
Performers are Trip Rogers and Tom Eure.
Rogers has been part of the Charlotte music scene for nearly 30 years. He's played in rock, blues, country and gospel acts and also performs as a solo acoustic artist. He's released three CDs as a singer/songwriter.
He's opened for such national acts as Leon Russell, Hal Ketchum, Fred Eaglesmith and Molly Hatchet.
Eure has performed at such venues as the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, CBGB's Gallery in New York City and festivals throughout the South. He's released four solo CDs and plays more than 14 instruments.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students, free for ages 9 and under.
