No. 4 Missouri tops Texas

AUSTIN, Texas Michael Dixon scored 21 points, including the winning layup with 31 seconds left, as No. 4 Missouri beat Texas 67-66 on Monday night.

Ricardo Ratliff and Phil Pressey added 13 points each for Missouri (20-2, 7-2 Big 12).

J'Covan Brown scored 20 for Texas (13-9, 3-6), which lost for the fifth time in six games, all to ranked teams. Two of those defeats were to Missouri.

Dixon's winning shot came seconds after J'Covan Brown had given Texas its first lead since the opening minutes.

Wofford 82, Western Carolina 56: Drew Crowell scored 19 points, leading four Wofford players in double figures, as the Terriers rolled over visiting Western Carolina for their sixth consecutive victory.

Crowell made nine of 11 shots for the Terriers (15-8, 8-3 Southern), who made 59.3 percent of their shots, including 64.3 percent (18 of 28) in the second half.

College of Charleston 68, Samford 52: Antwaine Wiggins scored a career-high 25 points to lead visiting College of Charleston over Samford in a Southern Conference game.

It was the first win for the Cougars (13-9, 5-6) in two games since Mark Byington became interim coach after Bobby Cremins took a medical leave of absence, and it ended their four-game losing streak.

Livingstone 64, Saint AugusTine's 61: Omar Ford-Bey hit a 3-pointer from the right corner before the horn sounded to give visiting Livingstone a CIAA win against Saint Augustine's at Emery Gymnasium.

HOWARD 82, S.C. STATE 76: Brandon Ford scored 14 points and Tre Lee 13 as visiting Howard ended its eight-game losing streak with a victory over South Carolina State.

Calvin Thompson added 11 points for the Bison (5-17, 2-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), Prince Okoroh and Mike Phillips scored 10 each, and Simuel Frazier had nine points and five assists.

USC UPSTATE 82, JACKSONVILLE STATE 77: Ty Greene's 17 points paced five South Carolina-Upstate players in double figures as the visiting Spartans downed Jacksonville State, tying a season high with their fourth straight win.

DAVIDSON: The Wildcats will host Wichita State on Saturday, Feb. 18, at noon in Belk Arena in the 10th BracketBusters. The Wildcats are one of 26 teams selected to be a part of the BracketBusters event on the ESPN family of networks.

WINTHROP:The men's basketball team has been paired with Appalachian State for the second time in four years in the BracketBusters game that will be played in Boone on Feb. 18. The game will start at 2 p.m. at the Holmes Center.
